It's nice to receive gifts, it's even nicer to get a gift you'll actually use. Let's face we all have gifted a few bad ones. What I like about giving gifts is finding something that will be useful in everyday life. Finding the perfect gift, for any occasion, doesn't have to be expensive or extravagant, it just has to come from the heart. Here is a list of 10 great gift ideas that are fitting for any occasion.
1. Gift baskets
Always nice to get and fun to put together. Especially themed baskets. Like cleaning supplies for the bathroom, kitchen, the whole house, or a car washing kit. Bedtime baskets with pajamas, nighttime face wash, a bath bomb, lotion, and nighttime tea. Don't forget the most loved fruit gift basket.
2. Gift Cards
They have a gift card for virtually every place you can think of. Giving the recipient the ability to choose what gift they get and when. Especially useful and thoughtful. Knowing people have needs they may not discuss, a gift card lets them get what is most needed.
3. Planned time together
Spending time with someone is the most valuable gift you can give. Plan special time together having brunch, coffee at the park, a day of shopping, or hiking. Making memories and setting aside time to focus on your company is excellent for mental health, emotional health, and general well-being.
4. Personalized gifts
Finding someone to make a personalized gift is easy these days. There are some extremely talented people out there with a Cricut. T-Shirts with personalized sayings, blankets with poems, family portraits, and keychains representing lost pets. The sentimental value of such gifts goes beyond words.
5. A good to-go cup
This might fit in with a personalized gift but I separated it because having a nice to-go mug or flask is a way of saying "I love you" by caring. Gifting a great mug is beneficial because it gives the gift of hydration. Finding an awesome mug that fits the personality of the person getting the mug is easy, choosing a pattern... now that might be tricky.
6. MUSIC
How about a nice pair of headphones? Giving the gift of music is the best gift. Music is the best medicine for what ails you. Having a nice, quality pair of headphones can make anyone's day go better. Using them for calls, music, and videos. This is a gift that will get used and will be appreciated.
7. Self-care
With this, I am talking about giving someone the time to take care of themselves. Watch the kids, deliver dinner, clean the house, or wash the car. This frees up time that allows for self-care. Give a mix of natural soap, bath bombs, body scrub, or beard care. A spa day at home or a trip to get hair and nails done. Giving someone the freedom to disconnect and find some solitude will benefit their mental, emotional, and physical health.
8. A subscription service
When I was growing up, we only got subscriptions for magazines; Teen, Vogue, Readers Digest, the TV guide, and National Enquirer. Now, you can get a subscription for just about everything. I've seen meat crates, snack crates, monthly soap deliveries, cleaning supplies, and clothes. It will be easy to find something that is appealing for a git. Giving a gift card to a subscription service, if offered, would be a great gift.
9. Books
If you are looking for the perfect gift, books are a solid choice. No matter what age, books bring adventure, fantasy, and humor into our lives. An avid reader may need a book to complete a set, or they just like to read any book they can get their hands on. Children also benefit from reading and looking at pictures. Reading and the arts inspire children to think outside the box and explore their true potential. Books are probably one of the most important gifts on a giving list. Encourage a love of reading, young and old.
10. Plants
Even if someone lives in a low-light apartment, there are plants that will grow. With the give-and-take relationship we have with plants, having them around will help purify the air we breathe, which is especially beneficial with allergies or asthma. We should be taking better care of our living quarters and living as healthily as possible. This includes the air in the house. Herbs are easy to grow indoors and they are edible. Cactus need little care. Snake plants purify the air. It's a win-win.
